what do you miss? August 10 2010
so there’s a fair amount of traffic to this site and it got me thinking…i could get a pretty expansive response to a question that i’ve had bouncing around inside my pretty little head.
what do you miss?
what is that thing, that place, that taste, that smell that you find yourself longing for?
i’m talking about major longing. the kind of thing that you find yourself daydreaming about. the thing that your mind wanders back to during the quiet times. you know, on the level of, “i’d hold up the corner liquor store just to get a bit of that”.
ok fair readers, it’s in your hands now. don’t be shy, share yours in the comments section.

This is an interesting post…very interesting.
Sitting in front of the Teton’s and just looking at their beauty…driving down the road (preferably through the mountains) with just the perfect combo of clouds in the sky…being on the ocean on a warm, clear night and watching the stars…sitting at an outdoor cafe watching people in Italy…the taste of instant potatoes after a strenuous day of hiking…and last but certainly not least (and maddening since I can no longer do it) running on a perfect trail through a grove of Aspen trees.

Walking through a panyard at dusk with corn soup and the smell of hot roasted peanuts with soca pounding rhythm through every cell of my being. Laughter, ol’ talk, rum, all fours, doubles and sweet mango juice dripping down my shirt. The hot sweaty fete, the cool evenings and sea water bathing at any place – Maracas, Las Cuevas, even the Carenage. Just give me pan, salt water and some curry. If it happens to be J’Ouvert morning, well, then I’ve reached heaven.

Sitting in the meadow at the base of El Capitan watching the climbers on a beautiful sunny day. Riding a fully loaded LHT up Washinton Pass. Drinking really good English beers at Sherlock’s Home. But mostly, lately I miss my colon.
